Have you ever wondered why some people seem to be naturally high-performers in life? They're organised, efficient and highly effective, not only at work, but also at home. Whilst others, seem to struggle with everything in life. They feel overworked, overwhelmed, always tired, constantly have a headaches and generally not winning in any areas of their life.
I’d like you to consider for a moment three key tips about how to be that highly effective, organised high performing person and what you need to do to start to become the person that you really want to be.
Tip No 1
The most stressful person in the office is always the alpha male exec who runs the office, has the job title, salary, making all the decisions, right?
No, I would say it’s more likely to be his secretary – the working woman with children under 13 with the responsibility of not only their work, but their family too, extending to aging parents that they’re having to take care of. If you want to start to lose the stress at work, start by knowing what your life really looks like and what areas are your real priority. Where exactly do you need to focus your priorities on. Once you understand your focus, priorities and your values, then life takes on a new perspective.
Tip No 2
What does success mean to you? Is it having the big house, the big car, the big job, big salary? Or is real success, finding and using the power that you have within yourself to make change? If you want to unlock this power, then you must understand who you are and what your why is. Once you know this, you can start living your true authentic life.
Tip No 3
Working long hours and weekends mean that you’re more productive, highly efficient and effective at your job, right? No, to me, if that’s what you’re doing, then you’re heading towards burnout. If you want to be efficient and effective at work, stick to your time boundaries. If you work 9 – 5 than plan your day from 5pm backwards making sure you do quick easy tasks first thing so you can tick off your list and feel you’ve accomplished something for the day.
Heavy workloads, overwhelm, stress, anxiety are no longer a badge of honour or success. Now is the time to change, the time to rise up to your calling, to step out and to step up to change not only the world you live in, but the world that lives within you.
